I teach in Japan; there are many things here that are strange. I chose one.
These signs are affixed to ashtrays and smoking paraphenalia throughout Japan in an effort by Japan Tobacco to raise awareness among smokers concerning their habit’s effects on those around them. And they’re hilarious.
Be sure to visit their Tobacco & Salt museum next time you’re in Tokyo.
